The Vision

The client's vision for their Fox Harbour home was bold and contemporary. A two-storey modern residence with clean lines, stone and board-and-batten exterior accents, and a detached triple-car garage. Situated on a scenic waterfront property, the home is designed to take full advantage of its natural surroundings and commanding views of the bay.

Construction Process

Every successful build begins long before the first concrete is poured. For this Fox Harbour project, the process started with land clearing on the wooded property, opening up the site, establishing boundary markers, and creating access for equipment and materials.
From there, excavation teams moved in to prepare the foundation. Working through challenging winter conditions, the team excavated and formed the footings, with the stunning frozen bay visible in the background.
Once the foundation was set, our crew and crane operators worked in close coordination to erect the two-storey frame, sheathed in ZIP System panels for superior weather resistance and air tightness. The structure rose quickly and efficiently, a testament to the planning and teamwork involved.

Results to Date

The home is coming along beautifully. Despite beginning construction in late 2025, navigating winter conditions along the Nova Scotia coast. The project has remained firmly on schedule and on budget. Structural framing is complete and the build is progressing with momentum heading into the warmer months of 2026.
Client satisfaction has been high throughout, with transparent communication and proactive problem-solving keeping everyone aligned. What is already emerging from the ground is a striking, high-quality home worthy of its exceptional waterfront setting.

Community Commitment

A cornerstone of Nauss Homes’ approach is a genuine investment in the communities where we build. On this project, local tradesperson Charles Smith of Charles Smith Excavating was engaged for site preparation and excavation work. One example of our deliberate practice of partnering with regional tradespeople alongside its our skilled employees.
This commitment keeps economic benefits local, builds lasting relationships with skilled tradespeople who know the terrain and climate, and brings a sense of shared community pride to every phase of the build.
